Icecream Screen Recorder is a powerful application capable of both taking still screenshots of any area of your screen and recording video files of screen activity.

It’s basically a two-in-one program that removes the need to separately acquire an image capture utility and a screen recording tool.

The image capture utility allows selecting an area of your screen that you want to take a screenshot of. The editing panel enables you to modify the taken screenshot by adding arrows, drawings, and text. Sharing the screenshots is also easy with Icecream Screen Recorder. The application gives you a short URL for a screenshot and you can share it with anyone. With a single mouse click.

As for the screen recording tool, Icecream Screen Recorder also doesn’t disappoint its users. A lot of advanced options are available: the setup of hot keys or the configuration of audio settings, for example.

Unfortunately, this tool can save the recorded videos only as MKV files and the taken screenshots only in JPEG and PNG formats. Anyway, it seems to be the only downside of this tool. Icecream Screen Recorder is still worth a try, especially since it’s absolutely free.
